- Personal Injury Law
Mark was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. Graduate of The University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Education and Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law graduating cum laude. While in law school, Mark served in the College of Law Legal Clinic, where he provided high-quality legal services to the community with the mentorship from practicing attorneys, prosecutors, and judges. Mark is a founding member of Zychowicz Skeldon, where he focuses his practice on personal injury law, including complex injury cases against individuals and corporate defendants.
Before forming Zychowicz Skeldon, Mark taught for ten years in the central city of Toledo. Mark's tenure with Toledo Public Schools provided him the opportunity to earn an advanced understanding of disparity and access to necessary social service resources within the community. The experience, and his drive to make a difference, formed his philosophy of the practice of law. "I view myself as an educated advocate. My knowledge and experience allow me to navigate a system for clients that would be difficult or impossible for them to navigate on their own. I want my clients to have all the available information so that they can make the best decision possible for themselves. Sometimes that involves going to battle with insurance companies or defense attorneys, and other times it involves me having a tough conversation with a client. I am willing and able to do both."
Mark is a Certified Trial Attorney and licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio. He represents those injured in motor vehicle accidents, including car, motorcycle, and boating accidents. Mark's practice also includes workplace accidents and equipment and product failure leading to injury. Mark has recovered over twenty million dollars for his clients who suffered injury or death due to the negligence of someone else. "I was in a serious automobile accident in which I sustained multiple injuries (none of them life-threatening). However, I was plagued with these injuries for six months, and my injuries had an impact on my performance at work and required assistance from neighbors and friends for daily life functions. When the insurance company did not want to budge, Mark Skeldon didn't let up; he continued to try different approaches until he reached a fair and equitable settlement. Mark is a true professional. He is very good at explaining the intricacies of the law and is very responsive to emails and calls. I would use Mark again and will refer him to others."
Mark lives in Perrysburg, with his wife Jen, and daughters Meghan and Kate. He enjoys time with his family and friends, rooting for the Detroit Lions, Pistons, and Tigers, exploring new music, and improving his racket sport skills.
